Charlie IN - Chairman
Charlie In has more than 40 years of business experience and spent the last 20 years providing investment and private banking advisory services in China. He has invested and listed many PRC companies outside China. He was Chairman of several public-listed companies listed on the ASX and SGX.
Charlie was an advisor to AXA, BASF, Citibank, DBS, Hilton, IBM, Microsoft and Volvo. He was the Chairman of Direct Marketing Association of Singapore, advisor to Asia Pacific Management Institute and the People's Association of Singapore. He was an adjunct faculty member of Singapore Institute of Management for 20 years and 17 years at University of South Australia. He has taught MBA classes at China’s JiaoTong, RenMin, Beijing and Tsinghua universities. Charlie won the 2010 Big Ben Golden Mulberry Award as the Most Respected Financial Writer for his "Family Financial Freedom" book published by Tsinghua University Press. His “The A to Z of Achieving Abundance For Financial Freedom” book hit the China top selling chart in 2017.
Charlie holds a marketing diploma from the UK Chartered Institute of Marketing, MBA from Macau’s University of East Asia and post-graduate studies from ADMA/Macquarie University of Australia.
Lily REN - Lead Independent Director
Lily Ren covers the areas of corporate governance, public disclosure, and financial reporting for public companies. She has cross-disciplinary knowledge of healthcare, financial services and sustainability industries. She was involved with major financial and strategic consulting firms including Cedar Strategic Holdings Ltd., United Overseas Bank Ltd. and Scotiabank.
Ms. Ren graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from London School of Economics and Political Science in 2012. She obtained her Master’s of Health Leadership and Policy (MHLP) at the University of British Columbia in 2016. Ms. Ren holds her Registered Financial and Retirement Advisor (Part 1) (CIFP) designation and Mutual Fund License (IFSE Institute). She has been an independent director since 2020.
William YING - Independent Director
William brings over 25 years of extensive experience in capital markets, private equity, and venture capital to Raffles Financial Group. He possesses deep expertise as a corporate director, specializing in enterprise risk management, corporate strategy, transformational change, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and succession planning.
Previously, William served as CEO and director of a publicly traded company on the Canadian Securities Exchange. Since 2016, he has mentored graduate students at Simon Fraser University's Mentor in Business program, guiding them on career paths, industries, and functions. From 1997 to 2018, William was an Investment Advisor, focusing on wealth management, IPOs/RTOs, and financing.
He holds an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
Abigail ZHANG - Co-Founder and Executive Director
Abigail Zhang is the co-founder and executive director of Raffles Financial Group Limited. She is the director of Marvel Earn Ltd since August 2008 that invested in many companies and exited via public-listings arranged by her team. She has hands-on experience in the bio-tech, energy, mining, property and service industries including working partnerships with investment banks, auditors, lawyers, valuers and other professionals to prepare companies for IPO, RTO, JV, M+A. Her experience covers sales supervision, training and development and has been in franchising of pharmaceutical business. She has been an investment executive responsible to help analyse, audit and arrange investments and public-listing deals. She personally has invested and listed an energy mining business in Australia. She acquired an ASX listed-company and spin-off of its mining assets and transformed her into a diversified financial services firm. She has interest in private banking services specialising in digital assets and global payment systems.
Dong H. SHIM - Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Dong H. Shim is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia and a Certified Public Accountant registered in the State of Illinois, United States. Mr. Shim’s principal occupation within the past five years is being a partner and founder of SHIM & Associates LLP (June 2013 to present) and Golden Tree Capital Corp. (November 2015 to present) providing accounting and other business advisory services to numerous companies in various industries.
Mr. Shim has served as an audit partner on numerous audit engagements with a mid-size firm located in Vancouver, British Columbia, where he audited various publicly traded companies, primarily focusing on junior mining, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, and high-tech industries. As an audit partner, Mr. Shim also assisted various start-up companies in achieving public listings on the TSX Venture Exchange, Canadian Securities Exchange and the OTC Market.
